These are the closest I can get to the look of hooked rugs.  I prefer the acrylic yarn Purrfect Punch makes for punch needle rather than embroidery floss, because the non-shiny acrylic looks more like wool to me.

All kits shown include the design drawn on the base fabric, plus all the yarns needed to work the design.  Complete instructions and a color picture of the finished rug make it easy to make your own little treasure.

You will need a punch needle and hoop to make the rug. If you don't have one, I recommend the Purrfect Punch Trial Set, $15. I especially like this brand, as it is a good size to hold, and the depth gauge is easy to use and reliable. Needles are also available separately, and come in medium (for the Purrfect Punch yarn used here) and small, good for one or two strands of embroidery floss. $10 each, plus $3 postage if ordered separately.

The designs shown in the kits are also available as finished rugs, contact me for availability and prices.
